I'm so thrilled that the Kickstarter for Hearts of Magic hit its goal! Print copies of Hearts of Magic: Threads Entangled are happening!  But we aren't done yet - if we can hit $7500, I'll be able to afford international shipping, and at $10,000, we'll be able to do full-color interiors for the book! As a celebration of getting to the goal, I'm releasing right now a short expansion/appendix for the game, called So You Want To Be A Fantasy Mech Pilot! D. Vincent Baker's incredible Mobile Frame Zero: Firebrands - on which Hearts of Magic is based - is set in the Mobile Frame Zero universe, where mechs known as Mobile Frames are used for both labor and warfare, but when I adapted the rules and setting for Hearts of Magic, I didn't include them, instead introducing Magic for the characters to use.

But what if, you could do both?

I'm releasing So You Want To Be A Fantasy Mech Pilot right now, as a single page of rules for what to do if you want to play Hearts of Magic as the Pilots of the immense magical constructs known as Frames.  You can download it as a PDF at fadingroots.itch.io/hearts (under "demos"), and get right to it - it helps if you have a copy of Firebrands, but you can wing it without one.
